This month we have a special treat. Eileen Duggan is going to join us for our discussion! A resident of Maplewood, Duggan is “a freelance journalist, writer, editor, piano teacher, seamstress and jill-of-all-trades” (excerpted from her blog.) We are very excited to read her mystery for our March selection of the book club.

The Not-Ready-for-Juilliard Players by Eileen Duggan follows four music majors who struggle to make it in a community college music department that has a Juilliard mentality.Lynnéa, Erin, Holly and Austin form close friendships despite the fact that two of them study piano with the heinous Professor Dickson, who is despised by the other two. Along the way they find music and friendship, success and failure, lust and love, trust and threats — and murder. The Not-Ready-for-Juilliard Players is a peek into the world of classical music education with a mystery running in the background. Description by Eileen Duggan.

The Brentwood Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Ask for a copy of next month’s selection at the desk. Newcomers are always welcome and no registration is required.
