Ten of us met to discuss Painted Horses by Malcolm Brooks. Catherine Lemay is a young archeologist hired by the Smithsonian to look at a canyon in Montana. She is looking for ancient objects in the canyon before it is used in the Harris Light and Power Company’s dam project. What she finds is worthwhile, but is not what the power company hoped she would find. This is a very descriptive and romantic view of 1950s Western America.
